Terms of Use

The terms that govern your use of this site and its tools.

Last updated 2026-09-13

This page is published in English. The tool itself is available in all six languages.

These terms govern your use of projectbay.uk and its subdomains (the “site”). By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

1. What the site is

The site provides free browser-based utilities. All processing happens on your own device. We do not store the files you process and cannot recover them for you, because we never receive them.

2. Licence to use the site

You may use the site for personal or commercial work at no charge. You may not attempt to disrupt the site or other users’ access to it, including by overloading it with automated requests, probing it for vulnerabilities without authorisation, or circumventing rate limits or security controls.

Individual tools may be built on open-source software with their own licences, which are identified on the relevant tool’s pages and in its repository. Those licences govern the software itself; these terms govern your use of the hosted service.

3. Your responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the content you process and for having the right to process it.
  • Do not use the site to process material that is unlawful, or to infringe anyone’s rights.
  • Because processing is local, you are responsible for keeping your own backups. We cannot recover a file for you.

4. No warranty

The site and every tool on it are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.

This matters in practice for a few tools. Calculations, conversions, and lookups are provided for general information and convenience. Do not rely on them as the sole basis for a financial, legal, medical, engineering, or safety-critical decision. Verify anything important against an authoritative source.

5. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ProjectBay and its contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, files, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the site. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid to use the site (which is zero) or the minimum permitted by applicable law.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

6. Availability and changes

We may add, change, suspend, or remove any tool at any time without notice. Because the site is free and has no service-level commitment, no availability guarantee is offered. If you rely on a tool for a repeated workflow, consider self-hosting the open-source project it is built on — in many cases that is straightforward, and the repositories are linked from the relevant pages.

7. Advertising

Some pages carry third-party advertising, which funds the site. Advertisers do not influence which tools exist or how they behave, and they have no access to the files you process. See the privacy policy for how advertising cookies work and how to opt out.

8. Intellectual property

The ProjectBay name, logo, and the design of the site belong to the project. Third-party software incorporated into individual tools remains the property of its respective authors and is used under the licences identified on those tools’ pages. Attribution required by those licences is provided there.

9. Governing terms

These terms are governed by the laws applicable at the operator’s place of establishment, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
